Resolutions

In a few days the clock will tick over past midnight and a New Year will be welcomed in.  With a fresh New Year before us it offers the opportunity to put to rest a year that may have played out less than kind, to give thanks for the year that blessed your doorstep, or to give hope to the next 365 days before us.

When you raise a glass of champers, what is mixed in with the celebration?
Is it a promise to yourself?
Do you begin a resolution?

Statistics show that 45% of people make a resolution, but only 8% achieve their goals. For most of us the proclamations are too far out of reach to fulfill.

Setting realistic intentions that you know are achievable will ensure that self-made promises last past Valentine's Day.

Experts suggest that we:
1)  share goals with friends and family so they can help cheer you on
2)  substitute good behaviour for those that you want to shed
3)  record your progress and changes
4)  celebrate the small successes along the way

Do you set a New Year's Resolution?
What is your goal for 2104?

The Gift of Better Health

It's that time of year again, when many people join or return to their health club as part of a
New Year's resolution.

Lucy stretching it out.

It may mean that despite the abundance of great equipment at my health club, there could be a delay to use some of the equipment. I've been reviewing a new floor routine to fill in the gaps when I am waiting for specific equipment. In the process I have discovered some great online video's of exercise programs that challenge your strength and endurance.

I am hoping that I perform the new routine with a bit more ease and grace than Lucy.

Give yourself the gift of activity.
You don't have to run..... you can walk.
You don't have to sweat it out in hot yoga...... you can perform simple stretches.
You don't have to spin for an hour....... you could discover that you still do know how to ride a bike.

Give yourself the gift of better health.....
there is nothing more Glamourous, and

........You deserve it.

Kiss Me At Midnight

The clock is ticking towards the end of what was an exciting and wonderful year for us. When I think back over the past twelve months and all of the experiences we had, I am overwhelmed.

We celebrated our Granddaughters first birthday in 2011. We celebrated the success of a new division added to Richard's business. I celebrated my first year as a blogger.
We celebrated so many successes and happy times with our children and family.

We know that we are blessed.

As the New Year approaches you can't help but think about what the upcoming months will hold. Many people prepare a resolution to begin the calendar year. I find myself recanting the same message again this year .....'I will put more effort into taking care of my health'.
I did pretty well in 2011 kick starting back into an regular exercise routine ...... well, at least towards the end of the year. And I guess ending the year on a positive drive will ensure that I'll start a new year the same way.

Do you have a New Year's Resolution ?

I can count on one hand the number of times I have celebrated New Year's Eve at a large party, preferring to celebrate in the comfort of our home. I think it's the perfect setting to say goodbye to the year gone past and to welcome a brand new year of promise.

There were a few years when I was happy to see the calendar finally put away..... we all have a tough year at some point in our life. No matter what the year brought, I always took a moment to say thanks for all the goodness in my life.

As 2011 comes to a close I will give thanks for all of the experiences that this year brought to my life. And for 2012..... I know it's going to be an exciting year of changes, new opportunities and continued dreams with my Honey.

When the clock strikes twelve I know that my heart will be filled with the love that is deep within our family; I know that we will kiss at midnight to welcome the New Year.

Happy New Year to all.
May your year be filled with good health and happiness !
