A Genius

"Today you are you, that is truer than true.
There is no one alive, who is youer than you".

This is one of my favourite lyrical phrases from Dr. Seuss,
and it can be found in the pages of the book
Happy Birthday to You!

And today - March 2nd, is the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel {1904 - 1991}.

We can thank the genius of Dr. Seuss for his insight into the simple things in life. Through his use of imaginative characters and rhyme, Dr. Seuss entertained young children and encouraged them to read.

The best way to honour such a literary giant is to mark his birthday as the
National Read Across America Day.
If you don't already have the full classic Seuss collection I encourage you to drop by your local book store and treat yourself to a birthday gift.
'Cat in the Hat',
'Green Eggs and Ham',
'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' {my favourite},
'One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish'
These are just a few selections that remain timeless,
and are sure to bring out the child in everyone.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
Thank you for open our minds and tickling our imaginations.
