Finally.......the weekend.

It was a conference week for me and I am the event planner. Finally my mind is purged of the never ending details that surround an event....... until the next one.
My hands hurt from constant movement and writing (that's a lot for a lady who is always on the go. Hmm, I'm getting older.).

This weekend it's all about taking quiet walks with my Honey. So off we go to the waterfront for a stroll and then relax on a cafe patio. I'm certain that a cool glass of Pinot Grigio in hand will help ease the discomforts of the week.

Enjoy your weekend and some quiet time with the ones you love.

In the Wink of an Eye

First Birthday

Happy Birthday Son.

I don't know how it all happened so fast. In the wink of an eye my Son grew from my baby boy into a mature man. And now he is turning thirty.

Wasn't it just yesterday that we were up in the wee hours of the night drinking.......... milk? As the first baby, he generously allowed me to try out my parenting skills without even a manual to guide us along the way.

There will be 30 candles on Dallas' cake this year (ok, we won't put them all on at once). I was thinking back today over so many incredible heart tugging memories of my Son; he has given me a million reasons to be boastful and proud. We are blessed with a wonderful and warm relationship.

I could write pages and brag for hours about how special Dallas is; not just because he's my Son. We all benefit from his quick wit, compassionate nature and devotion to his family and friends.

When you blow out the candles on your cake, make a big wish.
There is no one more deserving of having all their birthday wishes come true, than wonderful, wonderful YOU.

Happy Birthday. Love Mom

At the Beach

We were away in South Beach, Miami for the long weekend. It was Canada Day on Friday and Independence Day (U.S.A.) on Monday. Richard and I enjoyed a lovely time with our friends at their 'other' home in the U.S. as we celebrated both countries and our good friends birthday.

I discovered that I need a bit more practice on posting from my iPad and cropping pictures on it. So it really was a weekend of rest as I couldn't manage to post what I wanted to. We just flew back tonight so new pictures of the beach will follow tomorrow once I get us unpacked.

In the meantime, here is a picture from the north facing terrace that I took last year. The view from the 37th floor terrace(s) is spectacular and watching the fireworks over the beach from there is very special.
